If you would like a personal message placed on the voucher you will be given the option to add this during checkout.
Why not take to the skies yourself and experience the thrill of flying an aircraft, or purchase a voucher for someone else which will make a truly exciting and fun gift for those special occasions.
With the guidance of your experienced CAA approved instructor you will have the opportunity to take the controls yourself, or sit back and enjoy the flight in our fixed-wing microlight aircraft.
Trial Lessons will be conducted in our EV97 fixed wing aircraft, and may be purchased for either a 30 minute or a 60 minute experience. The voucher is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. The experience will take place at the Flylight Flying Club at Sywell Aerodrome, Northamptonshire. Find us...
Please be aware that our training aircraft has a maximum take-off weight allowed. This limits the maximum weight of any trial flight voucher holder to 90kg. Please do not purchase a trial flight voucher for any recipient who is over 90kg as the flight would not be able to take place.
The minimum age for the recipient of one of our trial flight vouchers is 16 years old. If the voucher holder is less than eighteen years of age they need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will need to sign a consent form prior to the activity.
Your microlight trial lesson will last for either 30 or 60 minutes, brakes-off to brakes-on, depending on the voucher purchased. On top of this you will also get a pre-flight and safety briefing preparing you for the flight ahead.
Your experience will start with an introduction to your instructor who will take you through a pre-flight and safety briefing. You will be shown the aircraft and given an explanation of its flight controls and instruments, plus have some basic principles of flight theory explained to you. Please be sure to ask any questions which you may have. Once securely in your seat your instructor will explain everything which is being done and will take the aircraft into the air. Once you have settled down your instructor will demonstrate a few basic manoeuvres and will give you the opportunity to fly the aircraft for yourself........an experience you will truly never forget!
Your trial lesson can be booked throughout the year, during the week or at weekends. Believe it or not that some of the best flying can be achieved during the winter months when the air can be very still with clear conditions.
You are welcome to bring friends and family with you when you attend for your experience. The general public must remain behind the airfield fences and not go airside, unless escorted by one of
our instructors or staff. There are great views of the airfield from the spectator points and there is also a cafe and toilets
Sywell Aerodrome has good pushchair and wheelchair access and facilities, should any of your party require them.
