Welcome to Sunbird Sky

Flylight Flying Club - Sywell Aerodrome

Sunbird Sky operates within the Flylight Flying Club based at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire. Being part of a centre of excellence for microlight training in the UK we offer fixed-wing training in our EV97 Teameurostar, from trial lessons and gift vouchers through to achieving your NPPL microlight licence.

We also offer advanced training in navigation, radiotelephony & instructor training.

 

Our professional instructor & examiner can offer the full package to obtain your licence, including:

 

  • Flight & Ground Instruction
  • Flight & Ground Examining
  • Flying Instructor Training
  • Radiotelephony Training & Examining
  • Advanced Navigation Training

 

Being based at Sywell Aerodrome is a real privilege and offers outstanding facilities to learn to fly, including three grass and one concrete runway. As an award winning aerodrome Sywell offers an onsite hotel, restaurant, cafe & museum.

 

Sywell operates with a very professional & safe ethic, and includes full time Fire Staff and First-Aiders during its operating hours. Training within the environment which Sywell offers gives our students a good grounding in general, aerodrome & radio procedures. Our instructor & examiner is the aerodrome flight radiotelephony examiner, and as such will guide you through these procedures making the learning process much more simple & structured.
